Kamea Devons and Adam Salvi, two designers with backgrounds in design and art, have teamed up to create a unique glassware series. Kamea, a graduate of the Industrial Design Department at Bezalel and a master's degree from the Royal College of Art, London, specialises in research and design. Adam, a skilled glassblower and director of the glass hot workshops at Bezalel, is a graduate of the Ceramics and Glass Department at the institution. They developed a unique technique in their joint work: glassware designed inside laser-cut steel moulds. The two drew inspiration from traditional jug shapes, interpreted them in an innovative design language, and transformed the three-dimensional idea into two-dimensional steel moulds. The glass blown into the moulds creates a fascinating dialogue between the defined lines of the steel and the flowing volume of the glass, which breaks free through the open gaps.
